Here In This Garden
Here in this garden
I think of you and wonder what could have been
I think of the time I read to you my favorite poem
And looked right into your eyes
I thought of kissing you that night
But I was taken to much by fright
For I can never know if you like me
At least the same way I like you
Our worlds were completely separate
With the only interactions being the ones that we have
Some tell me to just go for it
Others say it would be a mistake
For our past is not the cleanest
So fill this last glass with liquid courage
And give me a chance to take off my mask
I wish I could just ask for a chance
For you to see the prince within the beast
It’s the same story every time
The beauty can never learn to love him in the least
We keep moving on and on with our lives
But I will waste away in my lonely garden
Waiting for the chance
But I’ll fool myself, cause you won’t return
I’ll think of all that we could have been
Wasting here in this lonely garden
